Confused about Exige S3 model ages!
Discussion
I am in the market for an S3 Exige.
My favourite is the 350 Sport which if I'm correct, is a facelift version of the S, with exposed gear linkages and a bit of cosmetics.
However, there seem to some older 350 sport models, and some new S models.
Is that just old S stock that has been registered late or what??
ps
The salesman also said the 350 Sport does not have any assistance in Race mode. Yet I watched a review or two that said the bosche system 'learns' the available grip and plays tricks to go faster. Is that a myth or has it just been dropped for the 350?
Many thanks all

This is the best explanation for all of the various DPM modes:The salesman also said the 350 Sport does not have any assistance in Race mode. Yes. There were a few unregistered Exige S cars at dealers which may have ended up on a later plate than early Sport 350s, but were manufactured before. My favourite is the 350 Sport which if I'm correct, is a facelift version of the S, with exposed gear linkages and a bit of cosmetics.

I believe it was a hard switch over, so S and Club Racer are old style, Sport 350 onwards are newer style. The only model you'll find some ambiguity on are the Cup 360s where cars built after the switch have the exposed gear linkage, ones built before it don't.

He was wrong. In Race Mode the DPM system is still enabled. Summarised here: https://wiki.seloc.org/a/Lotus_DPM#Exige_SBravoV8V said:
The Sport 350 has the updated gearchange. Otherwise, pretty similar.
Some other minor interior changes (different DPM selection and other button changes), along with standardisation/deletion of some option packs (no more Race Pack, became standard, for example). Then you have the cosmetics like the plastic engine cover instead of glass, etc.Other little bits changed over the production cycle pre-Sport 350, eg. deletion of some of the engine bay trim panels.
If you would like to take a trip out to Stratton Motor Company, I will happily take you out in an Exige S and a 350 so you can see the differences, but like the past thread said they are essentially the same less the open gear linkage and updated gear selectors. I have 4 Exige in at the moment so a good choice too not that i'm trying to tempt you ........ :-)
