After 3 years will Lotus extend their warranty at a cost?
No, Lotus don’t offer an extended warranty scheme. Specific dealers might but these will be aftermarket warranties (often not worth the paper that they are written on. Most claims seem to be dismissed as ‘wear and tear’).
If you bought new and had a problem after the initial 3 years, then you might be lucky and Lotus might contribute via goodwill. (A lot would depend on how the car had been driven - the ECU stores a considerable amount of parameters).
However, engine and/or SC failures are remarkably rare, especially if they’ve been ok for the first 3 years. It is a Toyota/Harrop combination after all.
