Hi,

I am looking at a lotus elise 111s (2000) x reg
the car has done 16000 miles and is immaculate inside out. It is a registered cat d has had new rear wheel and damage to the sill under the passenger door but drives and sounds like a brand new car. The is a report to show the aerodynamics are fine and there is not 1 scratch on it. There is no lotus service history with this but the engine sounds and feels superb.

How much should I offer for this car its currently up for £13k is that too much for a cat d

thanks

£13k? thats what it would be worth privately UNRECORDED!

£8k perhaps? in view of no history

I doubt he would, as hes obviously in dreamland if he thinks its worth £13k (bearing in mind its CAT D recorded, take it you know what that means?)

Could be stolen recovered with no damage and still go on the register as CAT D, if an insurance company's paid out. Really you need to find out why it's CAT D ie. has it been involved in an accident?

it does have a mark on it "new rear wheel and damage to the sill under the passenger door" - sounds like chassis damage. But if its straight and clean would be worth a look but not at 13k! thats crazy money for a service history free Cat D.

Look:

"1999 LOTUS Elise 111S 2dr Convertible
Immaculate. Chrome orange, blue hood and blue leather interior. FLOTUSSH. Full 111S spec., plus new rear tyres, elise carpets, ali winders, Sony disc player, cover, "J111 VVC" registration. Flawless paint. MOT'd and taxed till August 2005. Much loved and always garaged. 17200 miles. £12850."

On Autotrader. No Cat D nor nowt.

This fella is asking way too much for a Cat D if you can buy something like the above anyway!

I've seen a sport 160 for about a grand more too!!!!!
