Hi All

I have a 907 engine fitted with Delorto 45's that came originally from a '76 Eclat.

Cast into the inlet manifold is a pipe with three 180 deg U bends going into the head.
At number 1 cylinder end this connects to the thermostat housing via a 38mm rubber hose, but it's the cylinder number 4 end
I'm unsure of. The ally water tube finishes with a 13mm stub and in the cylinder head itself is another 13mm screw in stub in
the same location.

My question is, should these two stubs be linked with a rubber 90 deg elbow, or should a tee be used so that this becomes
the take off point for the heater/de-mister ?

I am assuming this is some sort of water heated hotspot to aid fuel vaporisation so This might well be the spot to take off heat
for de-misting. To be honest I simply don't know, and haven't got a plumbed in car that I can look at.

Many thanks in anticipation,
Paul G

I'm struggling to get my head round your description - might be worth having a look here http://www.rdent.com/manuals/index.html to see how the parts you're describing were described by Lotus.

Sorry. I struggle to understand my own explanations sometimes.

Your link was very helpful. Cheers. In the diagram of the inlet manifold the end stub is called a heater pipe. (15)

I will go back and try to find a similar diagram of the cylinder head to find the stub that is near number 4 cylinder.

Many thanks

I've found a pic of the stub in the cylinder head ( arrowed in red ) and I have drawn in the location of the other one. ( in blue )

At present I have joined them with a tee, and taken the 3rd end of the tee to the heater matrix.
The other side of the matrix returns the water to the bottom rad hose.

Can anyone say this is on the right lines?

Cheers
Paul G

From information gleaned from the web I believe that the stub into the head was a '76 modification to cure a hotspot on number 4 cylinder.

For the time being I've blocked the end of the manifold pipe and linked the head into the bottom rad hose, for the duration of the test period
I've removed the heater matrix from the equation.

Time will tell.

Cheers
