Ecos Modeled
Daniel Bohn provides us with a stunning impression of what the Ecos could look like
Discussion
Sorry but I reckon it would take a hell of a lot better than this to even the attention fron the boys at lotus. Honestly they could have their pick of any designer/modellers in the world, everyone would like to work for them, even though the company is perpetually on it's arse! Besides if danny-boy want's to get their attenion, in my experience a phone call and a genuine reason to speak to them is the best way to go. On the actual subject of the model, the wheels are well rendered. The rest is a bit unresolved for my liking. For instance the way that rounded elise mouth sits in the trapeziod front panel, one not refering to the other is a bit sloppy. Daniel, who are you? Someone just messing around with a 3D package off the front of PC fomat, or are you someone who should know better? If you're the former, good effort, good model, no obviouos holes in it. If you'er the latter, next time spend a little more time resloving the design (For pity's sake don't be affraid to improvise, don't just copy other peoples' skecthes), and show us something really special that will do you credit. Good Luck.
As far as I know Daniel is just someone who enjoys computer modeling. He's modeled a number of Lotuses and other cars. He's sent us various images over the last couple of years because he knows the level of Lotus interest on here.
As he's doing it as a hobby, I don't think you should be too harsh on him, particularly where it comes to the design which is Lotus's anyway.
Given the talent he has for turning some pencil sketches into a real model, I'd love to see some improvisation if possible.

Wow that got got a quick response! Yeah know I was a touch harsh but it wasn't meant to be.
He obviously has an apptitude for modelling, as overall the shape does hang together. I've done a little of this sort of thing myself, and have found the best way to start a model off is to use freehand sketches in orthographic views, scanned into the computer and work over them as a background image. Saying that, they should be a guide, not a constraint.
Sorry Daniel, just tired, bitter and twisted! Have fun, and don't let gits like me quell your enthiasm. It's people like you (and me) that keep PH, and dare I say it, Lotus alive.
ps.What package are you using? if it is just for fun, seems to render very nicely.....
