Hi all,

I'm on the verge of splashing out on a Series 1. Plan to use as a second car for weekends away etc and poss very occasional track day.

The question is, will the standard car's power satisfy or should I go for 135bhp? Any thoughts?

Cheers.

111S offers the best Bhp per £, or as you say its for track use try and stretch to a Sport 160.

Other than the intial low speed acceleration (which of course good) 'regular' Elises are just to lathargic upwards of 70mph IMHO

I've had an S1 111s for 3 years now, use it everyday, have a short commute and great fun at weekends. I've done trackdays in it and it has been very well behaved in all this time. Goes like a rocket and has Worried one or two 911's. I'd say it's the way to go for you definately! Close Ratio Box, another 25 bhp over the standard car and better seats too. Stick a sports zaust and induction kit on and it sounds like a sports car too! Treat yourself!

Also consider a 160 if you are going to use it as a second/track day car you will possibly find a standard car a bit slow.

However you can always upgrade the car yourself at a later date. As it is worth getting used to the car first if you haven't driven anything similar before, as even the standard cars can be quite twitchy in this weather
