Hi does anybody know the 74 Europa big valve for sale up in Nottingham area with a dealer for £22, 995 ...the car looks really nice in blue with oatmeal interior but its been up for sale for a long time ... ive spoken to the guy and he sounds pretty genuine and pretty clued up and was going to take my freeeezzzzing cold Caterham up there next week but its a long old drive from the south coast this time of year if the car is a bit ropey!!
I used to own it when it was black. I sold it around 2005 to a chap on the south coast who was going to restore it as the body had micro blisters. It looks good in the photo's and I'm a sucker for Europas so would probably buy it back if I was in the UK.
I'll see if I've got anymore info on it in my ownership and report back

Oh I thought having a newish spider chassis was a sort of done thing nowadays or maybe not... to be honest the last time I owned a Europa was in 85 I paid a thousand quid for it and it overheated on the way home , but I might shoot up and have a look at it.... its been for sale for ages!!!
It's just as easy to buy a new original chassis as it is to get a Spyder, I think they might be cheaper too so it comes down to it either not mattering to you or as a personal choice of wanting a Spyder chassis'd car. The era of a Spyder being the only way to get a new chassis are long gone, probably starting when you had your car.
hmm...reading this:
"no colour change into the plenum/front luggage area though"
i would say the car was not restored thorougly...it was given a quick body fresh up...
with the spyder chassis: some prefer it, some not. i would prefer a galvanized lotus replacement.
so asking > 22k is a bit steep imo.

It's turned up on the Lotus Europa forum with a new owner.

It looks like a decent buy, it's got a Spyder chassis & rear suspension so someone has been doing a lot of work there.
