Hi, does anyone know of an alternative source for the passenger door central locking solenoid actuator for a 1995 S2 Elan M100 (although I suspect the unit is the same for all models). Lotus no longer supply but I am certain that the unit was sourced from the parts bins of another manufacturer. Does anyone know the alternative supply route?

Thanks for the interest in my post. I have not got the part number to hand, but since last post I found a US site which states that the solenoids actuators are standard ACDelco GM door lock actuators Part No. GM25664288 or GM 16632014.

I think a UK driver’s door is likely to be 16632014 as it is described as RH passenger door for a federal US vehicle.

There are several sellers in the US on eBay - as little as $37 inc shipping so not expensive. I intend to remove my faulty unit to get part number and check against the published images to confirm the unit is the same and the handing.

Will publish my findings if the GM part is relevant.

Thanks - look like an interesting site. I may try the hood re blackening treatment. Did not identify a central locking repair thread though - but my eyesight is not what it was....

Try asking on the forum, if you have a problem with your M100 you can guarantee that somebody else has already had it and found a solution. Plus just stop by and say high anyway! wavey
