Was a Lotus 7, bought from Caterham when they were still up on the hill.... I subsequently worked for them for about six months while I was rebuilding the car...

Anyway, I was going through some old piccies and remembered I had this one... The actual number plate off this car was in the sales office at CCS...

You've probably all seen it before, and recognise the characters in the photograph...

Patrick McGoohan & Graham Nearn.

Have owned a couple of Caterhams myself. First was a four speed live axle 1600. Second one was 1700 with a five speed box, LSD, Dedion etc. Superb cars!

You lucky dog thumbup

My first "proper" car (after a series of "bangers" - Ford Popular, Standard 8, Sunbeam Rapier, Hillman Husky, Morris 1100 with Cooper head - all bought for £30 to £70) was a 1969 Lotus 7 Series 3 1600GT bought from Caterham on the Hill in 1975 (when I was 24 though, I had the Ford Pop when I was 17) for £995. I thought I did very well to sell it 18 months later for £900 - just before values took off! Since then I have had a 1984 1700 Supersprint (that wasn't completed until 1990) and my current one, a 1974 Caterham with a 2 Litre Alfa Romeo engine smile
