a bit of a tangent for me to be on here more often on the tvr forums, but i thought you might like a gander at the car i was working on today it is a 1972 elan+2 and it has been stood for 10 years, the owner wanted to see if it would run so trailered it over to me and a carb strip and rebuild, dizzy sorted out some clean petrol and she came alive, just as an aside back in the day when these cars where new i used to supply a build service for most of the lotus marques and the ginettas from the gold seal car company in the old kent road the government had introduced purchase tax on new cars but if it was supplied incomplete you didn't have to pay the tax so for some folk who couldn't or didn't want to build there own cars they came to me in a kit form body interior and wiring all in place, we had to install the engine gearbox final drive and suspension it seemed to vary from car to car my favourite was the lotus europa very easy to put together great car to drive to but heres a couple of pics of the lovely old lady.

Looks quite smart that, i guess it's had a restoration at some point? It's the same colour as mine...was! The paint is all off at the moment as i am doing a rebuild.
I notice there are no sill strips on it, have the clip holes been filled in? Not sure if it looks better without them?
