Hi all.

Just a quick post for anyone with a 70's Europs with the bonded screen who might need a new screen at some point. The original metal trims are obsolete so you are forced to go down the plastic route. There are some very expensive replica trims available but after trying to make them fit for a while, seeking advice from other very experienced fitters (I am a windscreen specialist with 25 years experience) I decided to abandon the trims supplied and source my own. The end result was, in my opinion, better than the ones supplied by the customer, better than the old plastic ones I removed and possibly neater fitting than the metal originals.

Down side is you will need a fitter with a lot of spare time on his hands, it took me about 6 hours to remove the old glass intact and refit minus the water feature with new trims.

Any body ever needs to replace a screen on one of these drop me a line and I will let you know what trims and how to go about fitting them. I am in France so unfortunately probably not really able to fit in the UK but I will more than likely be able to give you numbers of people who could do the job.

Hope this helps save someone £260 on a pile of junk trims.
