So I'm being massively patient here; I placed an order for an Elise S before Christmas and was expecting the completion Week 44 2013. I'm still here without the car and have been told Week 4 2014 (which is next week). Others off the forum have intimated that there are rumours about Lotus and supply issues, but I can't find anything. Can anyone shed any light?

There are always parts rumours but from what I have read these are the same ones as every other manufacturer. They do seem to have an ever increasing focus on build quality at Lotus and this has, iirc, held up some of the Exiges too. You might wait a little longer but you should get a better car smile

Fair enough, but for around 250 parts to be put together, does it require an extra 90 days?

(Should have added a smiley), I was kind of suggesting for a dinky little car like a Lotus that it seemed odd that significant delays existed.

However, talking to the dealer, he suggested that new ownership was upping the bar for QC of parts coming in from suppliers and that suppliers were consequently having to up their game. He's waiting for 6 cars (including mine) to come off the line, all of which are delayed to some degree. So it's not just mine, which is something.

Still, gives me more time to finish the garage and deal with a couple of potholes in my drive.

TBH you'll get your car quicker than quite a few of us will get replacement (Evora) headlights. People have been waiting since August. I am hoping I get mine in time for Christmas! Not impressed unless I see a huge leap in quality.

If the patience becomes tested too much, I'm considering an Evora
