hi just bought myself a Lotus +2S Sold my last one 27 years ago.Is there anyone from the North east Lotus owners club I joined in 1977/78 it would be nice to know.
Will have to do a lot of work on the car as it is a non runner.I believe it was last on the road in 1997.Can't wait to get started.

What took me so long to buy another? Not sure this will be my fourth Lotus.First one was a 1970 Elan 2 seater Wich I bought from a dealer as a box full of bits for £500.Then came a +2s also 1970 had that for 7 years.After that came a Elite 503 1976 can't remember how long I had that maybe 18 months.And now this + 2 130/5.fingers crossed not too much wrong with it. AFAIK NELOC has folded due to lack of support/interest.
There is a "Lotus Owners North East" club active now as a spin-out from TLF and/or SELOC. It's mostly Elise/Exige/Evora from what I've seen.
Where in the north-east are you ? There's quite a few of us Club Lotus members around and, though there aren't any official meetings these days, we do sometimes get together (at least, the Elite/Eclat/Excel owners do).

I have almost completed a total nut and bolt restoration of a 1970 +2S and am just over in north east Cumbria. I'm now at the re trim stage and hope to have the car on the road in the next 2 months. Let me now if you need any help - I have a lot of surplus spares and know where to obtain everything.
Are you on Elan.net? If not you need to be - it's a fantastic resource.

Not sure where abouts in the NE you are but as been said there is the Lotus Owners North East that have meets & a forum.
I've not actually managed to get to one on the meets yet but there's one on tonight that I'm hoping to get to.
