Lotus - Proton - Toyota
Discussion
In the world of Global manufacturing good old Lotus is part of Proton.
Now here is something to make you think just what could happen.
Toyota posted a good year. They race in F1 but have no Super car, desperate for help in how to build a racecar. They have the MR2, Celica, Supra but nothing in the NSX/ 360, Lambo territory I believe (please tell me if they do?).
Down the bottom end they have, now how can I say, lower cost labour.
For sake of argument if Toyota purchased the Proton Cars division with Lotus as part of the deal. Lower end labour plant, plus Super Car potential, could even mean Lotus in F1 (yes I know this does not belong to Lotus but the chap who owns it does not want to race in F1 at the moment).
Could happen
