Have an MGB roadster which is nice and shiny, makes a nice noise and goes fine BUT doesnt make my heart race much.
So am looking at summit a tad quicker/newer etc and have sort of narrowed it to.
An early 90's SE or S2, or a TVR Chimaera/TVR S series.
I live in east Cornwall so most ofd the time its point and squirt with a steady cruise of 60/70 so as not to get plod to excited.
yes I know this is a Lotus site but can we be impartial?

Lotus should be 4-6k
S2 5-7k
Chim 7-10k

Help!

South West Lotus Centre should be your first port of call for sales and servicing if you're in Cornwall I think.

Lotus Elan Central is the best site for M100 information and there are some SELOC'ers in the area as well.

Quite like the M100, come across a few on the road and they can more than keep an Elise honest in my experience. Engine is pretty solid but wishbones can be expensive and standard brakes aren't great.

The Lotus and TVR are very different cars. I think you need to drive both and see which you prefer.

I recently bought an Elan SE, which I like a lot. It doesn't handle as well as an Elise, but it has the major advantage that it is easy to get in and out of. While it is front wheel drive, it is still pretty quick, handles well, has excellent steering feel, and is practical on a day-to-day basis.

I find that my sons elan is a bit low on the front windscreen apart from that it is an excellent all rounder with good performance. I find the TVR 390se more comfortable vehicle and fun, the motor is first class and easy to work on.
