Club Lotus have one in April - about the 15th IIRC. This will be at Donnington.
April 20th - 21st:Our 2013 Club Lotus Show at Donington Park on April 20/21 is now just over
4 weeks away and there's still time to book your advance tickets and save
10% on the door price as well as beating the queue.
We've put a lot of effort into organising what we're sure will be a great
show. In addition to numerous trade and autojumble stands - many with new
products and offers - there will be a fantastic array of rare Lotus cars
on display plus other attractions.
Classic Team Lotus will have a special display featuring at least four
original Jim Clark cars - including the Lotus 25 he drove in 1963 - to
celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jimmy¹s and Lotus' first Formula One
World Championship.
Our technical sessions will be headed by Brian Angus who will be covering
the Esprit and complete 900 series engine range and we¹ll have Brian
Buckland on Elans. Steve Fulcher will be there to give advice on trim and
Frank Sadowski from Option 1 will help you with any bodywork or paint
problems along with many other experts in the respective fields. If you
need any friendly help, advice or encouragement this is the place to find
it - straight from the experts.
Thoughts on the weekend Club Lotus Show at Donington?
I was there on Saturday (helping out on another Club stand) & had a walk outside in the afternoon (plus a drive in a Lotus Sunbeam into the "Lotus" parking area!) A lot more Lotus cars parked up than in some previous years at Donington, & all the way into the museum car park. The lovely weather seemed to have really encouraged the cars out, which was great.
However, the trade support for the older cars seems to be drifting away year on year? I wanted an exchange set of Elan handbrake pads (a regularly required item by many old Elan owners) but nobody there had any (had I know I would have asked Sue Miller to bring some - good to see her there with a lot of excellent parts available)
I'm told that Sunday was quiet & folks were starting to pack up at 2.30pm?
