Looks like the future cars section has now disappeared from the lotus website.

So, what was is no longer.

The subject of much debate over on The Lotus Forum's. This is part of a genuine focus on what can be sold now (witness the future concepts being pulled from Goodwood FoS), a review of their marketing and promotion activities (pulling out of the Paris show to spend the money where its needed) and the imminent conclusion of DRB's review and the announcement of Lotus's future plans under this new regime. The site is being prepared for a revamp based on these new plans.

This is positive news, with the DRB executives saying all the right things -

And Exige S production has actually started this week - here's the first chassis about to go down the line -

Personally I find all this encouraging. A genuine return to Lotus' engineering roots and much less of a focus on 'bling'. Regents Street store accepted....

As we have both said - sensible things coming from Lotus post DB.

Re the store. I would reckon it could be a goer. Raising awareness etc. Ferrari and Harley Davidson make more from promo than cars. Perhaps it is time for Lotus to be a bit more active in protecting their copyright / logos etc as is done by the aforementioned.

Oh really?
Come on, you see the logo everywhere. Most, if not all the independents use it in their ads etc. You wouldn't get away with that with the likes of Harley Davidson. Hell, you can't even use the bar and shield.
What about all the T shirts etc with the Logo printed on them?
No, they have a long way to go if they want to protect their copyright and only have "authorised" products bearing the logo.
They should learn from Ferrari, Harley Davidson, Triumph, etc. Otherwise it won't be long before there are copies of the quality gear in the Regent St store appearing on Ebay at a fraction of the price from China. Just look at all the Chinese Lotus watches for a start, then there's the logo'd ally pedals, etc etc
