They lost 2/3 of there drivers in the past few weeks and the 2 cars they did get in were dead last.... They will be black flagged within a few laps for to low of speed..... Sad for this once great and historical marque. I don't want to hear a bunch of crap about how much money Chevy and Honda has.... Lotus put themselves into this, how are they going to make a show of it?

Ah - the black flag is shown in honour of Lotus' heritage colour scheme! I'm sure someone is working out how to get the Gold flag shown at the same time.

Disappointing to see. They've lost the Dragon Racing team now as well which is a shame as Bourdais gave the Lotus engine a bit of credibility in the early races on the road circuits.

I feel particulary bad for Jean Alessi, he is a great driver and didnt deserve this fiasco.

Whos fault is it?

As Director of Lotus Motorsports, Claudio Berro has to take responsability IMO.

Director of Engine development at Indycar gives his opinion here:-

I commend him for not cutting them any slack, even though he is a Lotus enthusiast himself.

Tough Love is what they need .smile

Possibly. He did run 2nd in the opening race of the season before retiring and had a 9th place finish in one of the races so it wasn't totally abysmal.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him winning some races this year now he's running Chevy power though.
