Am possibly in the market and this seems remarkably cheap. Anybody nearby fancy casting an eye over it?

Looks like it was sold for quite a bit more recently?

Being sold by two geezers called Frankie and Alfie in Basildon....you couldn't make this up!

Thinking of going to look at this, anyone know anything specific about it?

Cheers!

Nice enough bloke and to be fair he told me all this on the initial walk-around, I just wish he'd told me over the phone before I went there. Highlights were:

Drivers door badly re-skinned
Big patch of rust bottom centre on boot lid
Rear bumper coming away from body on off-side
Bonnet has had so much (bad) paint it was silly, looked like they just kept painting over the top of the old layer
One bank of the engine was running rich
Speedo wasn't working and they were having no luck creating a working set out of 2 lots of clocks

I didn't bother looking any deeper or driving it as it obviously wasn't for me and I didn't want to waste his time.

It is cheap for an LC and this may be the appropriate value but I'd want one in much better condition.

On the plus side he said the clutch had been replaced earlier this year.

Cheers,

Phil

First 3 cylinders run one turbo, rear 3 cylinders run the second turbo. Each turbo has its own lambda so the term bank is still valid in this instance.

might be of interest to someone -I have been made aware of a Lotus Carlton in Wales, it has everything except the original engine (I know) currently running a standard 3.0 carlton lump but he only wants around 3-4k for it.

Not sure how hard it is to source an engine or what condition its in??

Unless you have further details, sounds like it has all the hallmarks of just being a replica to me.

If it is, then best place for it is the scrapper with any genuine bits sold on before it gets there wink
