Europas when new ran on 13 inch wheels, steel or alloy.

Brand Lotus wheels not attached to cars are hard to find, but I may be able to get hold of a set of early 70s Dunlop alloys to replace the steelers on my Twin Cam. I wold keep the original wheels, of course. The alloys are 14 x 6J. Has anyone any experience of running a Europa on 14 inch wheels, and any tyre recommendations for this set up?

Thanks

Hi,
Although it seems a bit antiquated, there is a Lotus Europa newsgroup on Yahoo Groups which could probably give you an answer to this one. There are a lot of very technical (and helpful) guys on there and I'm sure Ive read comments about fitting 14" wheels in the past. Some of them race and apparently there's more tyre choice in 14" rubber than 13" these days.

I'm currently wondering about buying some new minilite style alloys for my Europa this year and I think I'll go for 14" rims with 60 series tyres.
