The Future's Bright

Proton's main main in the UK is reported as saying that Lotus isn't about to be sold off or floated. Tengku Hasmadi, the senior Malaysian director of Proton UK said Lotus is ploughing ahead with the Elise and VX220 and is working on a new bonded aluminium platform for the Elise/Esprit replacement.

Esprit and Elise Replacements does that mean that two very different cars will be replaced by one .
I would like to see something like the M250 replace the Esprit but the Elise replacement needs to be :
Soft top
Very low
hard to get in
Look similar to the current S2 not like a VX220 ,MR2 ,Porche Boxter ,MX5 or MGTF
I would prefer it to have a Twin supercharged In Line 4 and have similar interior tho the current S2 [Simple no centre console except for A/C ]and it should have a cd Player.
The current S2 is the best car and done up by TT its better. If you Agree Email lotus and make your views heard.
Oh yeah the Elise S2 Replacement should be called the ELise S3

Actually, for the Esprit replacement...

There has been talk that Bob Lutz, at GM, is behind a production run, via a third party (rumored to be Lotus) of the Cien concept car...

I would like to see this V12 750bhp monster produced by Lotus and then for Lotus to develop the Esprit replacement around it (vis-a-vis VX220 Elise S2). I think the Lotus version would sell more. How about Lotus Esprit, Mark II, S1

GT1 Elise, a road version with V8 engine and styling of the GT1 race car would be superb (come on Lotus you know it will sell and doesn't need that much development)
