50 Years of Team Lotus

20 F1 cars to road around Hethel in anniversary celebrations

Classic Team Lotus is to stage an event at Hethel to celebrate 50 years since the first racing entry for Team Lotus. The event takes place on Sunday 18th July.

Amongst the attractions will be twenty Formula One cars demonstrated on the Hethel test track. Static exhibitions of more racing cars will be arranged in the Lotus Cars factory. To complement that, video, photo and memorabilia will be on display.

It's hoped that many team members and former drivers will attend to join in the celebrations.

Me and my son will be there in his 76 yellow Esprit S1.Bit of a drive to get there nearly 5 miles.Should be a good day out. See you all there.......

The day started badly - got up late, possible speeding fine on the A14, then rain all morning till 2pm ish and massive queues for lunch. After that it was good and the sun even came out for a few seconds o/

Having just two Ice Cream sized vans serving lunch to approx xx,000+ people was a joke, I spent 45mins driving around trying to find somewhere to get some food

Heard reports of a ticket cock up where people with pre purchased tickets being turned away?

Apparentley Lotus had sold too many day/gate tickets?

Any one affected?

Anyone with a pre-paid tickets will get a full refund,as reported in local press.Contact booking office.I live 5 miles from Hethel it took me 2 hours to get in,(and i know the back roads).My son and i had to park his 76 Esprit S1 in a bloody field.I think it was the only S1 there (i could be wrong).........

Was that the 'R' plate yellow one? If so, it was beautiful, and I was parked very near to you. My car is in my garage now absolutely filthy. Have to wash it before Brunty.
