Alarm Help

Hi, I pick up my first elise tomorrow, feeling v humbled. Having a problem with my insurance though, wondered if anyone can help out?

They want a cat 1 alarm fitted, the dealer seems to think that the car is a sports tourer, all the pics and info i can find seem to go this way, leather seats, four speaker stez, alu bits & bobs. I found the the cat 1 comes with the sports tourer?

Is there anything I can check to confirm what it is, alarm that is.(its a 2001 edition laser blue). Where will I locate it or is there anything easier, like the fob may give me a clue.

They all come with a CAT1 system. Make sure the installation certificate is with the car - it will probably be in with the manual etc in the wallet.

Your insurer won't need this to start the policy but might withold theft cover until they have a copy. At the end of the day as long as it's CAT1 they can calculate the premium.

My S1 has a Cobra system on it as standard and I'm fairly certain that the S2s are the same.

Tip - if you post in the Elise bit rather than general Lotus, you'll get some more info as some of them don't venture out of there
