Some of you will be familiar with Castle Lotus/ Hilton & Moss (I hope!), so I was hoping for some feedback. Castle Lotus renamed itself last year as Hilton & Moss Sportscars to integrate the marketing with the new flagship classic car restoration business. However, Castle Lotus ( + Castle TVR) is/was a relatively well known name in those circles, so I'd like to know which name/ brand you prefer or are most familiar with. From a franchise point of view, we are still known as Castle on the Group Lotus website.

Any feedback gratefully received (preferably of the helpful variety......)!

Thanks All.

Hilton and Moss means nothing to me. I remember Castle TVR and Castle Lotus from my Griffith/Elise days.

Castle (even tho you're no longer next to the castle!)

The Moss name doesn't mean anything to me, and the Hilton name still smacks of Suzuki.

Maybe it's because I'm local though......

Castle Lotus and Ben, so 'Ben at Castle' for me.
Why does it matter? just wondering.

Just want to make sure that the marketing is consistent - which it isn't.......

Hilton and Moss is not synonymous with Lotus to me, Castle however is, but probably because that's where I bought my first Elise from smile

I would challenge the statement on your website (Hilton & Moss) though;

I didn't think Castle took on Lotus until the very early 00's as Nelmes were the Essex dealer and Bridge Motors before them? Unless you can tell me otherwise...

But i would have to agree with TJS10, to me it sounds a bit odd to suddenly rebrand it when every knows of you as Castle. I would stick with Castle for Lotus & TVR and H&M for the Classics. Nice looking workshop by the way, you guys have an impressive set up there by the looks of it, i was half tempted by the Cerbera you recently sold but i'm constantly away for work at the moment so pointless getting one at the moment.

All the best.

The Hilton part always makes me think of a young lady that made some shocking home video.

The new works shop and hole set up looks great. Its always a pleasure to come up and look at your cars and try and tempted myself out of a elise and into something diffrent.

Still a shame you could take my dad out in the Tuscan. I bet he would have taken it.

Let's be honest, you have two completley different target audiences.
I am certainly not going to be chopping my Elise in for a concours XK150 any time soon!

Whether you like it or not, I suspect a lot of people see the POA prices for most of your 'blue chip' stock and dont even bother even getting a quote to service their £10k Lotus or TVR.

Nice Esprit!

That's kind of my point though, anyone who has used you or has been to your open days will know the reality, but does your advertising/branding get this across?

Being objective, I think it depends on whether your experience with Castle was good or not.

If it was good, then surely the name change won’t matter.

If it was bad, then perhaps a name change might encourage people to give them another go.

Just a thought...

It won't matter what a company calls itself if, when a potential customer turns up the two blokes sitting back in their chairs can hardly be arsed to answer any questions, and then when the customer eventually finds out that the launch spec 2/11 he wanted to view is "in the paintshop" they then can't be bothered to ring as promised when it's back. Two months later it was still for sale.
Not the best experience by far.

Being a little picky but that first picture shows to me that your dealing with more family vehicles than Lotuses or TVRs. If I hadn't had my Lotus serviced by yourselves it could actually put me off because I could wrongly believe that you didn't have the appropriate experience.

We service a lot of "everyday" cars as well as Mercedes, Ferrari's, Porsche, Astons, Land Rover, Classics and of course TVR/ Lotus. A lot of our customers bring their daily drivers to us, and we get a lot of local prestige/ performance business.
