Can't believe what I saw today.

A finished production Elise with hinged vertically opening doors, a la Lamborghini Murcilargo.

Very secret judging by the amount of people trying to keep it hidden and the amount of security.

Car was red & black with fantastic 5 spoke alloys and looked factory manufactured.

An interim solution until the next Esprit? Watch this space.......

Can't post....no camera at the time.

Believe me, this was real, look out for it in the press any time soon.

Oh, I believe you. Just wish we could have seen it...

PS: You're quite sure it wasn't this?:

(They could have just been moving it around)

That, my friends in s the now defunct M250. This is the car most of us yearned for when they first showed it. SIGH!

Mark - what I was thinking was that the M250 is probably being used as a design study for the V8 replacement...

...be interesting to see those doors on an Esprit replacement...

There were two of the M250's I think, a silver one and this blue one. At the motor show in 2001 they had the silver one on display and I was told that it was mostly made of clay and balsa wood, so unlikely to worth much for development. I remember reading that the blue one was in Coventry at the (now closed?)design studio undergoing some dev work... maybe something in that?

This was the car that was going to make me part with proper money... I bought an Elise Mk2 instead, but still want something a bit bigger and more practical.
