don't know, I know some early Europa weighted 610kg and some later 710<>730kg so not that much.
that V8 is even a bit more to the front/middle, so thats good...the weight? maybe in the 900 kg?
That's a 30% gain in weight!that V8 is even a bit more to the front/middle, so thats good...the weight? maybe in the 900 kg?

Not to be confused with a standard twin cam, this very rare 1971 Europa is a fully refurbished, mechanically sorted and very quick car. It comprises a powder coated space frame chassis, Audi 1.8 litre turbo engine producing aprox. 290bhp and 370Nm, Audi Turbo transaxle.
Re-built Avo shock absorbers. New Rota alloy wheels. New Toyo tyres (195 x 45 x 15 front, 215 x 45 x 15 rear). Re-bushed front and rear suspension. Willwood 4 pot front brakes vanted discs front. Stainless braded brake hoses throughout. New painting dash, alcantara seats and trim.
All work fully documented and all invoices kept.
Perfect in every way, and ready for driving.

The black stuff is closed cell foam, I think originally it would have been jute or something like it, the closed cell doesn't hold water and stops the body from vibrating on the chassis.
ah, good to read, looks also very professional, well thought of and indeed you don't want the protection layer between chassis and body to hold on water, over the years they scratch/move and get rusty.Did they sell those in the right format (say for such Europa Chassis) or did you buy a big sheet and cut it to fit.
anyhow, well done, looks like a nice sorted restored Europa, ready for the next many years.
seen this art work? based on a lotus europa,

lol, the fuel tank sits in the front, the engine sits in the rear, ala the base lotus europa !
Ah yes, my mistake. Am I wrong about it being a dog's dinner? I don't think so. But I guess it's in the eye of the beholder!Yes, I like it somehow, and I also agree, it looked a bit strange in the picture with the tank, it was a bit confusing :-)
I see those raw aluminum cars as a work of art, something you could park somewhere near a bench and look at its shape/form.
wow, just wow, ok it can do with some new refreshment in the interior and some other things, but look at it...
a Lotus Europa S2 Ford V8 1969 GKN 47D special, no idea were the original 47D is after some pictures in old books I have, but this is nice, ok they need an exhaust change for a better V8 sound and a fresh tune and so on, but hey... Uber cool this thing.
also look at the windscreen wiper on top :-) cool, maybe also functional?
way more here at bring, probably gone within 4 hours...>

Wow $50k!
yes, nice for a Europa, I bet if you want to build one like that again and another one have to do the job, its gonna double that at least is my guess.the body work, the chassis work, paintjob and so on, some garage prices (hours) are almost silly those days.
I would love something like that, also such sort ala type 62 what that UK specialist made, no idea if they still in business, but they did a lot with Lotus Europa ah Banks Europa.
I never forget one of the first Lotus Europa model 72? I ever saw in the wild, I was biking together with a friend from school, I guess I was 12-13 or so? and we spotted a purple Lotus Europa in the place were we lived, was from a guy visiting his parents.
ah it was one like this one but LHD same, it looked like from another planet loved it, sadly no phone or camera those days, otherwise you saw me with a big smile next to that car
