I haven't bought a vehicle in this way yet but from what I know you will have to bring it in under the Registered Automotive Workshop Scheme (RAWS). Your best bet would be to contact a RAW local to you in Melb that I suggest specializes in British cars. They would give you the best advice on how to proceed and costs etc. From searching of govt info I can't find a RAW that does TVR makes. Link below to do search for RAW near you. It would be good to know how you get on with the TVR import. Good luck and make sure you have plenty of patience as you will need it no matter what method you use to import a car.

Doesn't meen it can't be done. Might be costly for you to be the first to get a RAW to get one approved though. Do a search on a British make in you city and contact the RAW to discuss if they are prepared to take it on.

high level brake light, new seat belts, moving the headlamps up a bit (they are not legal in the UK from what I remember), quietened exhaust, no idea what you would have to do about no abs or airbags or traction control. IIRC TVR did crash testing so you bay not have to repeat that but whether the data is available I would not like to guess.

Didn't seem too difficult doing it under a personal import but the rules are very different.

Forget it unless you can do a personal import. It can cost a business $100,000+ to set up a new import.

What a damn shame.
Anyone know of any MkII S tuscans in Aus that would sell at the right price?

Classic throttle shop have one: http://www.classicthrottleshop.com/index.htm

And the rest are on carsales: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/results.aspx?N...

A few of those on carsales have been for sale for a LONG time...like 3 years or more and started with pricing quite a bit higher than what they are now.

As i said i'm after a MkII S which none of these are. hopefully someone has one somewhere and is getting sick of it..

can anyone explain the 'low volume new scheme' to me??
http://www.raws.com.au/ImportSchemes.asp
It says "...you need to search the RVCS." The RVCS site is the most user unfriendly site i think i've ever been on and alas has nothing about any TVRs.
Is this 'low volume new scheme' of any use to me?

Sorry...forgot about only wanting a Tuscan. What is on Carsales is all there is though you could have a look in something like the local classic car magazines.

Low volume is no good to you as it is for people setting themselves up to import and sell cars as a manufacturer or dealership.
