Work in Perth - Backpacker

Hi

Just wondering on the off chance if any PHers know of any work that may be available in or around the Perth area. Here for up to six months depending on what happens work wise

Don't have any specific skills, Journalism graduate and was working for the NHS as an auditor for the last 2 years. Not bothered what the work is or where abouts on the West Coast it is, as money is the most important thing at the moment. Signed up to an agency today and applied for a few jobs in the paper but thought a message on here may be worth a go too

Depends if you want a 'real' job or not I guess.
I found plenty of call centre work during my Working Holiday Visa and the wage was much better than the equivalent in the UK.

Note a working holidaymaker visa only allows you to work in one place for 3 months at a time.

It is actually up to 6 months with one employer over the WHM visa.

Really? Must have changed. Definitely used to be 3 months and I had to leave work and holiday in Byron awaiting my 457 visa to prove it.

I'm going back to early 2003 my first 3 months was up. So it may well have changed, but also did you get the 2 year version where you could do fruit picking or something, in which case they definitley would allow longer...

You are correct, it is 6 months now.

On the two year version you start with a normal one year WHM, work for 88 days IIRC either farming or doing something in a remote area, then you have a second year added to your visa.
