Hey guys,

just wanted to say i'm back to Perth on 25th January. For good. Didnt work out in the UK.

So if you're having a meet with JohnXJS (as per the other thread) let me know.

Now have to find somewhere to live so if anyone knows of a place to stay just for a few initial weeks for me and the OH whilst we find a long term rental any suggestions greatly appreciated. Ideally looking to save money over the $100 a night most places seems to want at the lower end.

Oh and also car rental!

Any help/suggestions/ideas greatly appreciated.

NOR or SOR ?

What do you "do"?

For hire cars, I'd suggest Bayswater / No Birds.

I'm hoping to be out in March.

I'm a financial consultant. Work isn't too much of a worry thankfully.

For the initial 2 wk holiday rental n,s,e or w - I don't mind! Long term probably NOR but want to be within 15 mins of the city.

Good idea on No Birds. Used them before I left Oz in Oct and cost $233 for a week. $5 a day excess reduction to $50 which is good. The Corolla had 60,000kms on it but was decent enough. Crap ride, handling, gearbox and engine though smile

March? Beer o clock ph meet due I feel beer

Andrew I *might* be able to offer you the use of the granny flat here for a couple of weeks, will have to check with the owner first.
In Kalamunda if you're interested.

Good news on the work front. I'm struggling to find contacts at the moment, and I know it's a mission to get a job with no Perth exp even though I was born local.

No Birds just seemed to be the best .. as you said, crappy Corolla, but it was Auto and the AC works biggrin

Defo up for a beer Need to introduce the wife to a few more peeps out there too.

Good luck!

(and you prob know, but have a look at realestate.com.au for rentals, and I'd suggest a "PomsInOz" type forum for details about short term rentals.

You could also try M2000 car rentals. They have mediocre stuff for not very much money, used the a couple of times with no hassles.
