Brilliant! Thats the exact one. Friend of mine sent out a proud email exclaiming the following:
[b]subject: 356 Speedster - *****'s dream
this is is my new baby - yes it's a
1954 Porsche - yes it's the same model out of Top Gun, yes I paid (or
will be paying it off) - ALL MY Self!!!!! Her name is Portia - she's
lemon....vintage...
Sorry for showing off (not really) - but I have worked damn hard in
feral locations with a lot of feral people and this is my self-reward![/b]
It included a picture of her standing in that very driveway with it.
I suggested to her she might want to join the 356register in Oz as a reference for parts or help if it breaks down, but hinted that if its a replica, its less likely to break down or be a problem anyway.
She says "Its real you loser, I imported it from the UK."
Having some idea of
a) the cost of a genuine 356 in Oz
b) her salary
c) import laws on cars to Oz,
I smelled a rat.
