What's the easiest way to organise a track day here in Perth?
The AHG driving centre only seems to list driver training on their website now. (Has it always been run by the RAC?).
Do you have to join WASCC before you can run your car at Barbegallo raceway? How many days a year do they have public track days?

I'm keen to have a play in my Skyline without risking more points on my license!! Taking it to the drag strip at Kwinana doesn't interest me at all.

You can hire Rac(AHG) driver training centre for $120 per hour for test and tune any time during the week
Wascc has tuning days for members 2 or 3 times a month for $60 for the full day but you will be on track with racecars, they give limited time to road cars on these days 25 min sesions for road cars only
There is a car club called No limits who do trackdays every month at wanneroo Deviant was saying in another thread he was aiming to debut his Mx5 at one of these
Speedwest.net has a full motorsport calander for Wa on the forum
The LF speedevent series is where I play, and we do 13 to 15 events a year from supersprints to hillclimbs

Cheers for that.
I'll have to look into 'no limits'. I don't fancy sharing track time with full on race cars. $60 a time is pretty cheap though (plus the day off work).

I believe WASCC days are run on weekends to though if it is a race weekend then road car running is restricted.

Remember if you want to run at Barbagallo be it timed or not you need to get a CAMS L2S license so you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club. The license is just a case of posting off a cheque for $100 with proof of membership of a club and the application form.
If you are not fussed about having a club magazine and stickers then 'no limits' or 'all fours and rotaries' are about the cheapest.

AHG can do private trackdays, you will find most weekends and on the odd weekday there will be one or two car clubs have booked something in. I got prices about a year ago and for just a trackday it was $600 with a maximum of 12 people.

I'm keen to tag along to something!

I don't know why I'm asking this given the response from the numerous attempts to organise go-karting in Perth
But...........
At $600 for 12 cars, AHG looks very good value. It also looks like it will be the easiest option on the cars with the lowest risk of stacking it. Hands up those who would be interested? Invite your wives and kids along and show them what their cars feel like when they are out of control and what to do to correct it.

I'm happy to do the booking and organising if we can get the required numbers.
Anyone??

I am up for it and my partner would be to so there is 2 more.

I have just booked us on to a 'tuning arvo' for the session on 6th August, probably still spots left if you wanted to give that a go and get a feel for it before organising something for ourselves.

Agree that it is very safe and pressure free there. It's single cars on track and 1 or 2 lap stints and nothing to run in to if you come off. You dont need anything special done to your car and you dont need a special license. Only thing you need is a helmet...$50 bike helmet will be fine at that place.
I have always found it to be light on the car to, sure you can really get up it if you want but being on your own on track gives you the space to drive as hard or as softly as you like.

There is a contact on here: http://www.dtec.com.au/mc-motorsport/tuning-arvo.h...

If you want to get more of an education thing from it there is these events to: http://www.dtec.com.au/mc-motorsport/performance-d...
