G'day guys.

Myself and the other half are taking a short holiday next month and will be in Sydney the 5th-9th (leaving on the 9th) and I'm told we are staying near Hyde Park.

Any PHers fancy meeting up for dinner and a few beers?

I don't want to control this or anything but I reckon darling Harbour is crap. I'd prefer something like this:

Brilliant! Looks like this is on thumbup

We are easy for location as long as there is a decent meal and a couple of bars to sample. We like busy areas but prefer more grown up establishments.

I should probably find out what time we get in on the 5th hehe though I seem to remember we land in Sydney in the arvo so that will give us time to get our bearings and strip the hotel room of anything not stuck down before heading out.

Will be driving down as its 3 hours on the train so not too fussy about where we end up. Ness thought darling harbour as its walking distance from the hotel but as one of us is driving will not make too much difference.

The Glenmore hotel has good food and views of the bridge and the opera house - looks a dive from the outside but they deliver IMO http://www.glenmorerooftophotel.com.au/1_home/ - also walkable from the CBD.

Hello Google (Bot) just had a look at your profile - like the strong bias toward VW. Hope you can make it, i am missing a bit of VW chat.

That rooftop place looks like a good spot!

I'm told that we do indeed get in to Sydney mid afternoon.

All we need to sort out now is a time ! Is 17:00 about right ?

Colonial, How about meeting up at Worthington BMW at the Kariong interchange at about 15:00 for a leisurely run down, park up on Hickson Street and wander through into The Rocks.

Can we make it more like 6.30-7.00? We land at 3ish and I am assuming at least an hour to the hotel and then looking at google maps its a 30 minute walk (same to drive drive strangely!) from the hotel to the pub. We are staying at the Travelodge on Wentworth Avenue.

Could someone that is going be kind enough to PM me there mobile number in case we get lost or delayed? hehe
