I'm fairly sure I'm suffering from a Rover V8 addiction.

Realistically about the only way i can justify having added this to the fleet.... smile

Love it...Now sell it to Colonial so he can turn it in to a historic touring car.

Say one thing for the foosty old heap, it can certainly shift and makes a rather nice noise when it does so.

Not sure what has been done to the engine but it sure as hell aint stock, just a shame the interior is in severe danger of giving you rabies - was wishing i had taken a bin bag with me to sit on for when i drove it home.

Should be an interesting restoration project for the winter.

brill mate!

I was on Princes Highway the other night stopped in traffic when one burbled up alongside me, british racing green, lowered and on some centreline wheels. sounded glorious! Gave the chap a nod and he reciprocated. sounded even more splendid as he roared away. Great cars, I should come over and check it out mate, what condition is the bodywork in?

Nice one, don't see many of them about and i've always liked them so thought why not. I'll be keeping this one original, no plans for aftermarket wheels etc and think it will be a while before it's back up to that sort of standard.

Body wise it's not bad, selection of dings around it as you'd expect for a car this old and some rust in the bottoms of the front outer guards that i've started treating. I've stripped all the panels off the front at the moment to check there was no rust lurking underneath and all is good, the main structure is very solid. Really nice car to work on so far as all the panels just bolt off, so especially with the bonnet removed access to the oily bits is fantastic.

Will need a new bonnet as the one on it is pretty badly bent out of shape, it'll need a respray of a couple of panels at least, and the interior just about needs to be given a proper burrial or be burned it's that bad.

No worries, welcome to drop in if you like mate - so long as you don't mind me picking your brains on the respray as i quite fancy trying it myself... smile Just drop me a pm.

Cheers,

Al

I remember them as cool Police cars; Nearest I got to one was a Corgi! A few of the staff writers for those magazines have those Rovers. It looks like it is Classics magazine. One fellow has two of them. Another one has a Jag that I am sure I have seen you post.
