Hi All,

Will be moving to Melbourne in a few months. Can you recommend a shipping company for both household goods and a car?

Will probably be taking a couple of beds, 2 sofa's, desk, couple of wardrobes, a dining table, books, clothes and of course the car.

Many thanks.

We used Elite Shipping - www.eliteshipping.co.uk

Went for a dedicated 40ft container, stuck the car at one end and all the household stuff at the other.

Hi TVP993, If it is not too much trouble, can you let me know how you go with shipping... I am going to be moving back to Australia in a couple of years and I would love to hear how difficult it is shipping your 993 back...

Good luck in Melbourne!!! and make sure you do the Great Ocean Road not long after you get there!

When we moved from Bournemouth to Brisbane we used Robinsons in Southampton. Very good I thought. Have also heard good reports on Fox's.

Brought the car in with Pickfords and the household stuff (40ft container) with Doree Bonner, both excellent.

I'm going to be moving home to Sydney... but I will no doubt get out in the car a lot more and get down the Melbourne to do the great ocean road.

Also I found this thread on moving costs you might find it useful

Thanks. Have had a read and done the figures. Are you taking your C4 back with you?

Yep definitely taking the C4 back with me.. the cost a lot more in Oz. I may even get another one and bring it back under my wife's name... there is a good market there for them.

Still had an amazing drive this weekend up to Lake Vyrnwy in Whales, beautiful roads up that way and fantastic weather.

Safe travels for you!

we had to use wridgeways - service was good, just uber expensive - make sure you see the breakdown of all costs prior to committing to the spend.
