The girlfriend is now looking for a hospital doctors job in OZ and has already contacted recruitment agencies.

She is looking for the work in the Sydney area.

Could any of you guys help out from the inside

Also, anyone know of any electronic manufacturing companies in the Sydney area that maybe after a Manufacturing/Production engineer

One amazing thing is that so many of the clinical names used or whatever you call them are different here = learn new language!

any of the recruitment firms will most likely jump at the chance, also try SEEK.COM.AU and suchlike, they will be able to help, they even arrange to see her in the UK as sometimes they go overseas "staff hunting".

Got here with my wife nine months ago for two Consultant jobs. Wish we had left 12 months earlier, 'cos then we would have been robbed less by UK/US bankers.
Pound going from 2.40 to 1.80 hasn't helped either and housing in Melbourne and Sydney is v.expensive for PoMs now.
I am sure your girl friend will find work. You had better get on with it they are talking of changing the 'highly skilled worker' visa rules soon.
