My Mitsubishi Verada for sale - $4500 with pics.
Discussion
I hope the mods wont mind but this probably isnt suitable for the PH Classifieds.
I'm selling my Mitsubishi Verada and wanted to post in case any aussie PH'ers were interested, or knew someone who might be.
I've moved really near to my work and walk everyday and therefore we just use my gf's car, so this is just not needed now.
So outline as follows:
Make and Model: Mitsubishi Verada KH EI
Engine: 3.5ltr, 6 Cyl Auto
Year: 1999
Mileage: 237,000
Price: $4,500.
Service History?: Yes full log book stamped to about 218,000. I had it serviced at an independent last March but lost the service confirmation when i moved house in November. Bugger.
Good Bits?: Well its really great to drive and is perfect for aussie roads. Its got a fair bit of poke but returns about 10L/100kms.
Its got a mahoosive boot and is big enough for pretty much 90% of any load you will need to move.
As its a Verada rather than a Magna its loaded with equipment - auto climate control, auto dip rearview mirror, electric everything, trip computer, 6 CD, remote locking etc.
Always been reliable and, given the PH community i wouldnt offer it out on here if it was a liability.
Bad Bits?: As you can see from the pics there is a slight scrape on the OSR panel coupled with the Tow Bar pushed up. This was after a very low speed, short distance reversing blooper in the garage. The patio heater it squashed came off a lot worse...
Also the radio display has a habit of disappearing strangely and then reappearing when the volume control is used.
I inherited the car last Feb when my dad passed and we used to give him grief about driving a burgundy car with fake wood interior, but i have to say i've bloody loved it and would keep it if continued to live in the burbs.

This sounds like a scam that i have been reading about on another forum
They offer you more than the asking price and say it is only available via paypal or western union
I would like to be proven wrong but be warned
Deviant can let you know about the scam also as it is on speedwest under
escort for sale and also the scammers are still out there

You know i really wasnt sure if it was a scam as it just seems so believable! I mean come on, the guy wants to give me MORE than the asking price, via that well trusted money transferring arrangement, Paypal, and he must be successful as he's got an agent! I mean only rockstars and celebs have agents.
I'm wondering whether to a)set up paypal, take his cash, close paypal then see what happens or b) just fanny around with emails with him for a laugh. Was tempted to say the price is stated wrong and its actually $34,500 and is he still interested. If so i'll even throw in a goat and a kinder egg...

The scam is as follows
Scammer contacts you offering to buy the car for more than it is worth
Tells you they are buying for a family member
Says they are on holiday or OS for work and cannot access the bank and to use paypal
Tells you what shipping agent to use
You agree
You get a email from paypal telling you money is being held in trust
You have to supply shipping docs before paypal will release the money
The emails from paypal are very relistic
Paypal does NOT hold money and never will
This scam has been tried on a few people I know and lucky they caught on before it is too late
If you are genuine buyer and all the points just happen to be true then like I said in my first post I am willing to be proven wrong

Sorry Sensible, a bit of a 'whoosh' moment from you. PG knows who I am and I'm just copy>pasting from the real scammer after his car in another thread. The only true bit is the fact that it is indeed the fact it is ideal for Aussie roads and looks like a top car. I actually drive something similar and if I was in the market I'd be biting his hand off. Or offering over the odds
PG we had a KH Verada a few years back as a hack and it was great, wish we never sold it. The only thing that went wrong was it needed a water pump which I had fixed anyway. Great cruisers and for the money a bargain. If i had the spare folding at the moment I'd buy your wagon in a heartbeat.
Used Carsales.com.au.
Got quite a few contacts, a few scammers, lots of web viewings (got a weekly update with how many viewed etc) and the site was easy to use.
Best think i did was get it detailed for nearly $300 as it looked bloody amazing and the buyer kinda ignored the rear scratch and just commented on how clean it was.
My personal opinion is that a lot of people have their car for sale for ages because a) its not as clean as it should be and b) the price is mid to high.
A year ago i sold a Sorento that was perhaps $500 under book but wanted it shifted. Got rid in a week and dont even think of the $500 now.
