Will soon be making my first trip to Aus for almost 25 years, and have started to think about Aussie cars again.

When we lived in Sydney in the 80’s, I always fancied a LX Torana V8 hatchback (boggo model, not the A9X), but somehow worked my way through a couple of HT’s, followed by a Valiant and an HQ instead.

Anyway, have been looking on ebay, and there don’t seem to be any V8 Toranas about.
Have they all disappeared ? Am I looking in the wrong place ? Maybe now they are all treasured and locked up in air conditioned garages ?

I’m having a dangerous urge to bring one back to the UK – would make a fabulous Le Mans & Goodwood car ! Any ideas or suggestions where I might find something would be appreciated.

Cheers
Ian

RR, You're looking in the wrong places mate.

Always check Aussie Ebay (ebay.com.au) as most older classics are listed there.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Holden-Torana-1977-hatchbac...

OR ebay item number: 280459738661

Same rule applies for older yank muscle, www.motors.ebay.com is the best place to look.

Is always a good place to look but most of the toranas are drag cars but you will find track cars on there also

Thanks for some great suggestions.

I had found ebay.com.au, but not seen any suitable cars ... all seem to be very expensive or need a rebuild - but I'll keep on looking.

Also thanks for great links to the onwers clubs - have sent a few emails - but please give me a shout if you come across anything !

Cheers
Ian
