Hyde Park. You'll have plenty of choice of different food stands, you can get a beer, the park itself is pretty nice, there'll be a stage with various entertainment ranging from ok bands to crappy citizenship handing ceremonies and kids entertainment, but 2 long streets adjoining it are closed off and populated with classic cars with loads of the major clubs represented. Also the jet flyover makes sure the park gets a decent view. Hope that helps!

And after that, I know it's sold out, but get there with a couple of hours to spare and catch a film on a screen coming up from the harbour, sit in the woods at the back and watch a flick with a backdrop of the opera house & harbour bridge

Matt you'd do well to look advice on the daytime stuff too. Ric turns out I'm doing the sneaky cinema too, so if you want a hand, directions, guidance whatever just dash me a message. The OH & I will make sure we're loaded with wine, cheese etc too.

There would be a good case for a PH meet in Hyde Park with a tour of the classic car show and beers... If anyone's up for anything in the city that day I'm keen. As long as there's no bum sex.

well, if you can you can. If it's to do with work it is a public holiday though, so you shouldn't be behind a desk.

OK guys, well there seems to be a modicum of interest in the Australia Day Motorfest, and as they have food and beer in Hyde Park I see no reason why not to. How about we say 2:00pm at the fountain in Hyde Park for anyone that wants to turn up? If you're there, you're there?

I'l be the skinny bloke wearing shorts and blue t-shirt, longish hair, most likely with the tall bird. And a beer.
