I'm coming over to oz for a bit next month and was wondering if anyone knew of any decent business class flights to be had?

i've checked out emirates and that's £3300, and royal brunei which looks like a deal at £2000, but haven't flown with them before so don't know anything about them.

any help would be appreciated.

I'm also gonna be looking for a car whilst i'm there, reckon i'll spend maybe $10,000 on something to get me about, anything good that you can recommend that i'm not likely to lose much money on?

cheers.

I am flying to Perth in December for my best friends wedding. BA and Singapore Airlines wanted over £3000 for business class. I also tried to use my BA miles but was told I could not use BA miles to upgrade in December to OZ. Makes me question being loyal to one airline.

So I have booked with Royal Brunei for £1700 business class. I don`t think they have the fully flat seat/bed like BA and no alcohol is served onboard although you can take your own alcohol.

I can't help with flight info but the usual place to look for cars is on www.carsales.com.au

Cheapest listing on Galileo (one of the systems travel agents use, although i'm not a travel agent wink ) sticking in mid October for departure to give an estimate is £2061+tax but that's with China Eastern so you're a braver man than I if you go that way, so i'd say stick with Royal Brunei/Emirates....

Nearest big name one would be £2386+ with Malaysian (although they aren't flat bed).

Have you looked at Etihad - they are usually similar money and are fully flat bed.

We're coming back to the UK with JAL early next year for a trip, $5500 each going OZ-UK via Tokyo since we're completely bored with the usual Singapore/Hong Kong/Bangkok stopover options.

IIRC Pikey did a trip to Oz on Etihad a year or so ago... he might have done a thread about it, I'm sure there was stuff on his website but he has since made that all private :-(

Try Air New Zealand. I did a round the world trip with them a couple of years back and thought they were very good.

I've used Etihad a few times Syd - Lon

Massive thumbs up from me for their service, aircraft and comfort. Price is bloody good value too.
