I saw someones shiny blue Cobra quarantined in Freo yesterday. Should end up being economical to run, given the road conditions here, but at least it will sound good at low revs

You just passing through or living here?

There are a few Cobras on the road here, at least a couple of local kit manufacturers as well.

Hi Tim, I've been here since late last year, been a member of pistonheads for a lot longer.
The Cobra isn't mine, I merely observed it being detained.
I've been deliberating long and hard with respect to bringing my car, as already stated elsewhere driving standards here are in the main not to european standards, not that I'm prissy about my car, but will I get the benefit of having it here and then the exhorbitant taxes WA bandit want for a personal importing.

Would you get a rebate if you brought a Vauxhall VXR8 or Bathurst scratchchin

I'm looking forward to meeting up with a few of you in the near future to talk cars and other nonsense with a beer or coffee.

Welome! Am sure you'll enjoy it - its a place where you get out as much as you put in.

Regards the car pretty much every PH'er that moved out here wishes they'd bought something special with them as buying here is very expensive for anything remotely decent.

What car is it and spec and am sure one of the regulars will provide an answer.

You would only get a Vauxhall branded Holden in if you have owned it and used it for 12 months in the UK.

Sorry guys I was being facetious with my comments about the Vauxhall / Holden.
Along the lines of import tax into the uk, then a rebate for returning it to its place of origin.
Bringing one in would seem a bit like coal to Newcastle.
