Has anyone imported one, and is the process complicated by this type being a kit car?

You would probably be better off asking on www.aus-clubbies.com

As I understand the rules there is no issue with importing a kit but you will still need to meet all the local ADR's and I also believe that you would need the chassis torsion tested as its a chassis not currently built in Aus.

You will also have to use a fairly modern engine to meet emissions...default choice here is Toyota 4AGE 16V and 20V or the Ford / Mazda Duratec.

www.oz-clubbies.com will get you there, a few of teh guys have done personal imports of kits and completed cars.
