Ok when a car forum has 3 times as many posts on having a curry than on cars something isnt quite right.

So to even up the post count heres a 'Spotted For Sale Thread' for all and sundry to list cars they have seen for sale. The posts can be cars:

  • That are interesting
  • That make you think 'ooh i could afford that'
  • That you dont see very often
  • That are simply nice to look at

post away....

My first few:

Mazda RX7 - http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/detail...
Very desirable...

Range Rover - http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/detail...

Wafting at its best

Alfa GT 3.2V6 - http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/detail...

Tempting non?

My job may be available soon enough.

8-4 sounds all well and good except when it's 3 days of 8am-4am and then back to standard 10-12 hour days.

Hmmm...lots of KMS on it and 10 years old..I know its an M5 and one would be a bit of a dream car for me to but when you ignore the badge and get down to looking at prices you can get a lot of HSV for the same money and with compareable (superior?!?!) performance.

I assume you've posted that on the wrong thread? Must be due to the major forum realignment going on?

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I'm seriously thinking about selling the Monaro and only spending <$20K on a replacement...

How about this: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/detail...sid=12080E6F746D&__Qpb=true&Cr=0&Ns=pCar_Price_Decimal|0||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&PriceTo=412&N=1216%201247%201282%201252%201246%20904%20628%201622%20713%20412&seot=0&__No=15&Nne=15&trecs=28&silo=1011

Not as luxurious as the Monaro and probably doesnt have air con and all that but it looks like your kind of car!

If you want something like that, check out the trader section of ausrotary.com, where there always seems to a million high power turbo rotaries for sale. And then a few months later they come back up for sale again.

People seem to get sick of their mega rotaries pretty quickly...

Yes. Ignore that. Have no idea how that one happened, sorry about that. I think my internet is broken.

I keep on getting tricked by the 04 Lotus Elise's for 35k on Carsales.

Ex Lotus cup and can't be registered on road.

Looks like a nice one, I've had a couple of first gen RX7s, and thought about a turbo for the last one I had, would have been a fun car...
I've also had a couple of 2nd gen (Series 5) and another one of those would be on the list. Reasonably quick, handle fairly well and lots of toys. Sold my last one about 5 years ago for around $14K.

The FD like the one in the OP is a fantastic car. My mate Russell has just built one to race in Street cars at Wanneroo but before that he had one as a road car. Used to keep it in my garage so I used it a bit. Great looking car, I reckon the best of the RX7 line. Bear in mind they were over $100K when they stopped importing them, I don't think we got the Series 8 here at all (although there are a few imports here now). The turbo rotary is a great engine, and it's relatively easy to get big BHP from them.
Some have tiny back seats, some none at all. Prolly wouldn't work for me.

hmm, very tempting.... very tempting indeed.

Back seats not required so apart from reliability and fuel its a tempting proposition.

I like my cars clean and unmodded so would like one and take it back to as new condition...

I think the series 8 is available here as an import. www.fabcar.com.au in Vic Park normally have a few examples you could nose around. While you are there stick your head in the showroom and see if they still have the DeTomaso in there!

Rotaries always get a bad rep...especially on the net. Its true they need carefull tuning but with proper maintenance they should last a long time and the power / $$$$ ratio works out well on them. I guess the trick is making sure you get a well looked after car in the first place.

I really like that! Looking at those engine mods wouldnt it have around 300BHP? I can imagine the clutch it has got is a royal pain and possibly slightly overkill unless its a real torque monster.
