Just got the annual quotes - NRMA $1300, AAMI $950, CGU $1000, 1Cover $too hard, ING $1050, Bingle $550. Yep, at least 50% cheaper than the others.

Looks like they're entirely web-based, not a phone number in sight, but part of the same group as AAMI. Also, distinctly safe-looking car list - no Porsches, etc.

Anyone used them, or know anyone that has? Might get my business this year.

I use Bingle for my daily drive. Not had a claim yet, but everything was smooth when buying the insurance online. A few of my friends who had used them for the last couple of years have had no problems with them.

You do get what you pay. I need to read my policy but I think they don't have a glass policy like other insurers but I need to check. They defo don't have replacement rental and other perks. Therefore, if you can do without your car if it needs repairing then they are for you. They were 50% cheaper for me too.

They do insure performance'ish cars like Golf GTI etc and they were about 33% cheaper than NRMA etc.

They won't insure me (under 25, modified turbo euro) so I can't comment

CGU and GIO are doing good rates at the moment from what I've heard.

I'm hesitant to reccomend anything associated with aami due to a number of less than positive experiences from friend who are insured with them/Just Car.

Just car...more like Just hideous excess.

I have heard of Bingle before, the premiums are low because they only really insure low risk groups and strip the policy of extra's. There is another company I cant remember the name of that are very similar but also let you base your premium on expected mileage.

Western QBE have given me good quotes with protected bonus and free windscreen cover etc. Not 50% cheasper than all the other quotes tho smile
Shannons wouldn't quote as i dont have a garage. I can see why they would want my car garaged now, lol...
Bingle given me quote 400 bucks less than anyone else so far, but i have no idea what real cover i am getting. Still all insurance is worth a gamble, and if you are not gonna claim, and we all hope that, then this could be a goer
