Sunroof in a convertable, 1 easy step

Leave it in your supposedly secure underground parking bay for the night. Then let some toerag with a knife cut a fking great hole into the roof of your car.
I need this as a daily driver so if anyone knows where i could get a nasty patch sorted asap i would greatly appreciate it. My insurance took 3 months to start my claim last time, which cost me a fortune in hire car charges. Grrrr

Dude..... Thats fecking shocking! Where was it parked? Did they take anything or just mindless vandalism?!?!
I can imagine the police or car park owners are not interested in helping. Any CCTV footage? Surely if they are advertsing themselves as secure they should have cameras catching the act and the people coming and going.
Not sure who could help you out in getting it fixed ASAP, maybe the MX5 crowd know a good supplier?
How much is a hard top?

It was parked in my apartment car park, underground secure key fob jobbie. The glove box was open, but nothing taken, i mean nothing. Not my cd's, chargers, change, nothing. Looks kinda odd to me. Only one damaged too another rag top one space away was not touched.
Its the final straw for me and Perth and this apartment.
Wonder how much larger my 2k insurance premium can get?

No doubt there is one of those "will not accept responsibility...." signs.
I hate those signs, I always think that if your selling yourself as a secure carpark and people are paying to use it then you damn well should accept responsibility and be insured especially against vandalism which really is the main point in wanting somewhere secure.
I reckon that you could persue the owners for being negligent in allowing access and get some costs back....if you have any effort left to give!

RE strata company and secure parking, I am going to give it a go today. I have already been robbed while here, had EVERYTHING stolen from carpark lockup. Clothes, PC, books, everything i brought from the UK. That was 2 days before i officially moved in, should have listened to those alarm bells ringing then!!
Gone from level 1 rating to level 4 today for insurance Wish they had taken my seats and stereo, at least it would have been worth claiming then! Grrr
Hard top option is about 6k once you add the fitting kit, and i am not sure Honda can even supply then at the moment. There was a 5 month wait for them awhile back. Been scouring ebay for 6 months looking for one, easy to find in the UK, hens teeth here!

I am actually driving over. One of those only do it once things Driven 1300km's in one day in the S so i know we can both do it if need be!
Roof being shipped from Japan as we speak....
I've driven across and back twice, once with some mates while I was still at school, and again in the 80s to go to Bathurst. First time was a novelty and I learnt to drink on that trip, second time was a nightmare with car dramas the whole time...I am actually driving over. Which cds did I leave in the car?

Ahhh so its a big adventure with no set plans yet!
I always loved Melbourne when we have been if your still trying to find somewhere to move to. Country Vic is stunning and the city centre is very european....even just going there on holidays I always felt very 'at home' where as Perth has never given me that feeling.

Bad luck mate, not good at all. For all things MX-5 you should sign up here http://mx5cartalk.com/phpBB-3.0.2/index.php - a good forum, a lot of helpful people.
In regards to strata - I'm a strata manager, you've got no chance. You would have to somehow prove negligence in that there was something such as the garage door had been reported as faulty and no-one attended to it in a reasonable period of time. The strata is only concerned with the common property and acts on direction from the executive committee. Sorry but the only ones to point the finger at are the pieces of st that did it.
