Hi folks - just wondering if anyone here has experience in dealing with Trivett Aston Martin dealers in Melbourne or Sydney.

It's a possibility that I may look to buy a DBS at some point in the next year or two and am doing my research early. One thing that bothers me with brands such as Maserati and Aston (other than reliability issues with Maserati especially) is the fact that there's only one dealer per state. If the dealer is terrible then that's too bad - live with it.

Now if you're going to spend half a mill on a car you obviously want to know you're going to be treated well , especially if you end up with a bit of a lemon. In fact you really expect them to go the extra mile to keep you happy. I've heard enough bad stories about the Maserati dealer down here to tread warily and wondering about peoples experiences (good or bad) with Trivett.

Can I be confident buying an Aston from them?

Thanks for any opinions.

Save yourself a bucketload of money ... buy one in the UK (big discounts right now and probably for the next year or so), keep it for a year then bring it back to OZ as a personal import.

Could be buying a problem with this workaround, it's not unknown to have your passport and visa inspected to prove residency for the period in question.

Trivett are one of the bigger dealer groups in Sydney and generally okay. They've just picked up the Lotus franchise and have a number of premises in Sydney. Plenty of money is invested in the Trivett group franchise and they do have some exceptional events that they sponsor, last week they did an Evora evening... I would suggest that you'd be okay with them in terms of customer service and the technicians who work there are generally good.

As already mentioned on here, I'd buy the car in the UK then do a personal import, saves you a significant amount of cash. Alternatively, try the Classic Throttle Shop in North Sydney (www.classicthrottleshop.com), they often have Aston Martins for sale and the other alternative is Pickles Auctions (www.pickles.com.au).. right now, they are selling all the repossessed cars that the city folk can no longer afford as profit sharing bonuses have been capped or stopped!
