PH Perth...Next event ideas!
Discussion
Hi guys.
So I think the curry went down quite well last night and I think everyone is in agreement that we really should get together more often and that the more we do things the easier it will get to organise.
So here we are...lets get the next event organised for sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Some ideas I had so far in no particular order:
1.
Trackday! By far the easiest and cheapest one to organise is a morning or afternoon at AHG at the airport. I sent them an email last week to see what sort of prices we are looking at.
For this event: http://www.dtec.com.au/mc-motorsport/performance-d...
7-10 people $825.00
11-16 people $1,110.00
This is a short 'skidpan' course marked out with cones. I should think its fairly low impact on your car and instructors are included in the price.
For this event: http://www.dtec.com.au/mc-motorsport/tuning-arvo.h...
12 people Max $600.00
This is run on their full circuit and again instructors are included.
There is no requirement for a CAMS license but you do need to find a helmet. Unfortunately they have had to many of their own helmets get stolen so they wont lend them out anymore.
I know a couple of people that have set up skidpan events on a weekend before but I think the full circuit events are normally on a weekday.
We could go to Wanneroo for a trackday if people want to but there is the logistics involved of getting everyone in to a CAMS affiliated club and issued with licenses first.
2.
A few weeks ago me and Kym went to a club in Perth called Devilles Pad. http://www.devillespad.com/
The food is VERY tasty traditional American...Stuff like chicken and waffles, macaroni cheese or philly steak sarnies.
Cocktails are deadly and some of them come with free stuff.
Music is funk / rockabilly style with burlesque shows and go-go girls...as the website says its very 60's and very Vegas.
3.
Cruise to a beach for loafing in the water and a BBQ
Cruise in to the country to a park of some sort with BBq's
4.
The Packing Shed in Bickley. Its a very nice little restaurant / cafe set in a green valley the outdoor eating spread around the gardens and under the trees. They do delicious home cooked food.
The roads to get there make for a very nice drive with some great views on the way, we could meet in Kalamunda and cruise in as a group....we are in a car club so we should do at least one drive somewhere!
So there you have it...I reckon No 1 or No 4 would be the best because they involve going for a drive!

Found a few pictures on google of The Packing Shed.
Yes they do Devonshire teas but it wasnt with clotted cream the last time we went.
How about meeting at the Kalamunda Hotel for pub lunch and a beer and then on to The Packing Shed for a taste of thier wines or a spot of afternoon tea?

Some nice ideas there Dev, good on ya!
I like 1, 2, 3b (bleedin' sand gets everywhere, no beach for me) and 4.
In addition, during conversation on Saturday, Tim will be heading up to Barbagallo in 3 or 4 weeks for the next main race meet.
The way the discussion went was he's going there anyway but he's happy to hook up if one or some of us also show.
So anyway, I'm planning to do this... domestic demands permitting!

There are some fun events on at the drags: www.motorplex.com.au
It can be a bit pricey and it gets flipping cold there though! If we do a drag event though I'm quite happy to set fire to some snags before we head off...I'm only 10 minutes or so from the motorplex.
I'm also told that the weekend of the 7th-8th is the Mandurah crab festival: http://www.mandurah.wa.gov.au/tourism/crabfest
Not sure how we would go keeping together in the crowds though.
we are going to end up with a million ideas and no action if we 'aint careful!!

I have heard its the Chilli Festival at Araluen (spelling) this weekend. Missed this last year, and really fancy going this year. Anyone up for it? Close to a few playful roads too
Just googling that to find out more but I'd be keen on Sunday, can't do Sat thoughHi Adam,
I'm not sure if you need a good paint tech but i used Colour Tech once for a bumper scrape on my wifes Kia Sorento once. He was good value and did a top job.
He was recommended by Kia as he does Melville Kia's and Honda's main dealer work so can get a perfect colour match.
Try 0408 0900354.
Bit of usual hasslegetting him to turn up but when done it was great and he's SOR.
