Kit Car Import

Having had a change of plan I have sold my TVR as I just decided that I couldnt really afford to bring it over with me so have been having a few thoughts about my next car. I realise that to import a car into Oz it has to be owned for 12months in the country of export. I have always fancied a Westfield and have looked on the web and the Australian dealers seem to be quite steap, price wise. Would it be possible to import a kit in its unbuilt form and be assembled once in Oz? Just wondered whether this would be exempt of such regulations?

I am not sure about importing a kit to australia, But there are plenty of seven type cars here for sale (I just sold my westfield yesterday)look here for just a few
