I just got sent a speeding fine for one of our pool cars at work (I'm not the driver I am just trying to track down who it was and process the fine).

MULTINOVAS ARE NOW PHOTOGRAPHING FROM THE REAR!!

Thats right..until now they only got you from the front in WA but now they are getting you from the rear. This means that a camera can be hidden on the opposite side of an object so it will be completely hidden from the traffic...we all know how they already like to hide them but this just makes it way to easy for them.

This fine is for a terrifying 107KMH on Roe Highway at 11.02am on a weekday. The freeway looks to be empty in the pics.

The fine is $150 and nil points...$150!!!!!!

We are having a real fight with the authorities about not being able to identify the driver (we dont have to sign cars out) and the only pics are from the rear so its impossible to tell who is in it!

I got done on the Mitchell freeway last year for 107kph in a 100kph limit at 9.30pm (totally empty road at the time). No points but a $75 fine. I should have been congratulated for driving in the left hand lane because I wasn't overtaking at the time!!!
I drove home from footy in Subiaco tonight and felt like I was risking a jail sentence by driving at 125kph and that's less than 80mph. There's no point having the 180kph limiter removed from my jap import Nissan Silvia - I'm never likely to go that fast in Perth am I?

I've said it before and I don't mind saying it again - road safety cannot be measured in kilometres per hour.

I got in trouble with my aussie passengers for setting the cruist at 130. 7kmh over the limit and $150 fine?

Unbelievable isnt it! Thats exactly what the ticket says...something like "Not more than 109 kmh namely 107 kmh" then it lists the fine and points.

I know that the punishment system got worse sometime earlier this year. The fines all jumped a substantial amount.

Dont forget that we are going to be in to double demerits soon and will be until the new year!!

I don't believe that we have owner onus legislation in place yet. You may be able to ignore it. They will try to scare you with threats, but they have to be careful not to actually say something that is false.

Oooops.
Looks like I may have been wrong about that.

Reading that RJO it sounds like its only a fine you would get if you went to the bill station and said ït was my car, but it wasn't me"... Better than losing a lisnece?

Basically yes. We have not been able to identify the driver so the advice given on the letter that came with it and the advice given at the place you go to see the pictures was to fill out a stat dec saying you dont know who was driving and just pay the fine.

In this case there were no points with it so I dont know how this works for more serious speed when points or court summons are involved.
