Discussion
Anyone going along to Barbagallo this weekend for the power cruise?

Something different from the norm for sure.
The weather looks like it's going to be good and it certainly beats shopping with the missus!!

I went to the Hot Rod show a few years back. It was only something like $10 to get in and I spent half a day there wandering around the cars (which I have NEVER seen on the roads!).
They had a few big horsepower cars that they fired up and made some noise with.
Lots of cars parked in an area outside and some stalls around the place selling everything from car parts to rockabilly clothing.
There were also some owners doing passenger rides for charity, IIRC is was $10 or $15 and they took you for a cruise around the various roads around Burswood.
All in all a good cheap day out. I didnt realise it was on acrually and wouldnt mind going but I am in Melbourne from Friday.

Stuart, did you go?
I noticed there's a hot-rod show at Burswood coming up one weekend soon (I think either this or next weekend), apparently it's the 12th annual occurence.
Anyone been before?
I did and it was alright actually. I've never been to a quarter mile track so I've never really been around big horsepower street cars like that before so it was a bit of a novelty. Good to see the big supercharged V8's flexing their muscles on the track. There were a number of 9 second cars there boing big burnouts and revving far higher than a big V8 has any right to!!I noticed there's a hot-rod show at Burswood coming up one weekend soon (I think either this or next weekend), apparently it's the 12th annual occurence.

There was a Falcon V8 there doing a bit of drifting and it was almost as if the track was too small for it - must have been some crazy levels of BHP going to the wheels.
Some of the show cars were very tidy as well.

I have an idea for a possible PH Perth meet....
Something like this perhapsI have an idea for a possible PH Perth meet....
No traction whatsoever on the road tyres the big slicks live in the shed and haven't touched the road yet.
And it's not a towbar that's for the chute.
It is a cop magnet so it goes most places either very slowly or most often on a trailer.

Great pics Suthol... thanks.
Stuart, impressed there was a drag strip there, sounds like it was a very good event, sorry to have missed that one.
It's been too many years since I was at one, drag strip that is... and I don't mean drag queen strippers either!
Another PH meet possibility Ian...
