Can you recomend me an Agent to help with Visas
Discussion
I used a vias company...I think they were called OE visas.
It was quite expensive if I remember rightly but I think it was money well spent. They said they only really take on people they know they can get through the process so you have an initial meeting with them which was in London, not sure if they can do that by phone or not but I was in London anyway at the time so went to their office.
They assigned just 1 person to follow my application through so it was very easy to be in constant contact.
All I had to do was just sit and wait for them to tell me what to do and fill in the forms how they told me to and go for a medical when they told me to.
I think the bit that was most valuable was that they made sure everything was correct before submitting it...so if I filled something out wrong or my statements were not strong enough (I came on a spouse visa so had to write essays about our life...so did my friends and family!) they could advise on how to improve it. If you apply directly the immigration office will not give any real advise or consultation service so you have to hope your doing things correctly. Apparently if your lucky they might let you try again but not always.
I think you probably could do it on your own with a bit of care and research but it was nice having the peace of mind.
What visa are you applying for?

Hi,
My employer has a Migration dept, I know the guy who runs it quite well and in terms of initial advice I can get you that free.
To process fully is around $3k (top end of the market but then so would be the service)- PM me if you want to progress further but good luck either way.

or
Have worked in IT for 8 years
I have been in IT for 5 years so now i think my only option is to be sponsored by a comapny something i would expect to find very hard.
I need a shame wedding so i can marry an Aussie girl..
Dont sell up anyway, always worth renting out your place in the UK.
Im on a 4 yr 457 "extended buisness visa" sponsored by my company. Got the job before arriving, they did all the visa stuff. Started the form filling while still in HK, did medicals with family in UK, all told took 3 months to get visa. You could go for a working/holiday visa or perhaps emigrate, depends on the points system.

We looked at migration agents but for us we felt we could do it ourselves as the process was simple.
The agents charged a lot i felt for not filling out the forms, not certifying documents, not arranging medicals and not really doing anything but checking forms.
I think they offer a good service for advice, but once you've done a bit of research you may see that the process is actually quite simple.
We came over on a BQ138 Visa (if i remember rightly) - Skilled Independent.
Tips:
When you get everything certified, get 3 x amount you thought you needed. You will always need more.
Keep all documents you sent to Vetassess copied as you will need to send these with your visa app.
When you number the pages, number them backwards (i.e top page numbered last) We had 133 pages in our app (including all docs that went to Vetassess) so the top page was 133, the bottom page 1.
Dont staple any pages
Do exactly as the instructions say
Dont call the processing agent. They get annoyed.
Put it together like you would like to see it if someone sent you something. Migration processing people like it simple and straightforward.
Make sure you provide all documents on the checklist. Do not miss one thing.
I think it was in hindsight actually really easy, but i can understand why when you are doing it seems massively complicated.
